TAU II
TAU II is a redirective, non-gating crash cushion used to shield narrow hazards like utility poles or median barriers. The system utilizes energy absorbing cartridges (EACs) to absorb and dissipate kinetic energy when struck by a moving vehicle. The TAU II is often applied where head-on and angled impacts are likely to occur. It can withstand both low and high speeds and is NCHRP 350 Test Level 2 and Test Level 3 compliant.
