Big Sandy® Barrels
The Big Sandy® is a non-redirective, gating system used to shield temporary and permanent roadside hazards. This system is made of free standing, sand filled barrels that contain gradually increasing weights of sand within the arrangement. The Big Sandy® barrels are made of high density polyethylene plastic and come in three configurations: 320 kg, 640 kg or 960 kg. The system is NCHRP 350 Test Level 3 compliant and MASH Test Level 3 eligible.
